Form IV students to receive tablet PCs this March

According to the minister of Education and Human Resources, Vasant Bunwaree: "The procedures for a market-sounding exercise for the tablet PCs(quad core) were launched last week and we have received many demands regarding the implementation of the tablet PC project."He added: "These tablets will be available in two or three months' time and the one who will be awarded the tender will have to abide by all the requirements and specifications imposed by the ministry.""The tablet will include all security features regarding access to certain sites on the inteet," added Bunwaree.The tablet will be a teaching and leaing tool.quad core tablet 10.1

"The manuals will be transformed into e-books to make them available on the network through which the students will follow their classes," added Bunwaree. According to the minister, the Mauritius Institute of Education (MIE), which successfully implemented the Sankoré Project has already started working on the tablet PC project to transform the form IV manuals into e-books at the earliest.After delivery, (ampe a10 quad core)the tablet will be kept in the colleges for the first week.This will mainly be for security reasons and also to allow the students to get used to it.It should also be noted that the students will be allowed to keep the tablet PCs with them even after they are promoted to form V.
